Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc.

In 1996, The Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House opened its home in Johnson City, TN and has since achieved to provide a temporary “home-away-from-home” for families of seriously ill children throughout the Southern Appalachian region. Forty (40) counties located throughout Northeast TN, Southwest VA and Eastern KY and covering a 125-mile radius outside the city limits of Johnson City are served by this regional facility.
 

Our house is nestled in a scenic wooded area across from Niswonger Children’s Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee. Making it convenient for parents, who have been uprooted from their daily lives, to be near their seriously ill child, yet, have a temporary nurturing environment to sleep, have the comforts of a “home-away-from-home”, support, and peace-of-mind so they can focus and be readily available if there is an emergency with their child.
